Top Authors and Books of Indian Literature for Children.
Identifying, supporting and promoting distinguished authors of children's literature from each of India's major regional languages is at the center of Vatsalya's mission and service domain. We plan to accomplish this objective by utilizing the services of established authors whom we have empanelled from various regions of the country. These authors, scholars and critics have been invited to work closely with the Foundation to classify and rate works of children's literature in their vernacular. The Foundation's support staff as well as the Children's Literature Bibliography Project serve as valuable resources to achieve this goal.
The end result? The Foundation will have a broadly representative roster of authors which will not only be objective and transparent to a great extent but will also help the Foundation to collaborate with both emerging and established literary talent in the diaspora of literature for children in India. The constant updation of the database in order to keep it current will also bring to the forefront works by new authors of children's literature and showcase talent at the national level. It is the Foundation's endeavor to provide maximum visibility to such authors, to increase readership and, in the final analysis, to provide the young minds of India food for thought and wisdom in a unique and unobtrusive way.
We urge you to get involved with Vatsalya as a parent, writer, literary scholar or an educator and join forces with us to bring to the children of India new horizons in children's literature.
